Synopsis
Nick, a seasoned traveler, Tiana, Zem, and Curran, a half-dragon, all arrive alone at a pub only to find themselves sitting at the same table. They alternately share their complaints and the pastimes they have chosen as a coping mechanism throughout the course of the evening. Even though their experiences are wholly dissimilar, betrayal is a recurrent theme. Each of the four has a strong mistrust of people because they were each bitterly betrayed by someone they held dear. But the four share something else as well—a serious lack of money—in addition to their shared worldviews. They make the decision to start a party, climb the ranks, and earn as much money as they can to spend on their individual hobbies after realizing that things cannot continue as they are. These defeated explorers are unaware that one day they would save the world from unimaginable danger.
