Synopsis: When Yūichi Ezaki has been hospitalized for hepatitis A he notices a girl, Rika Akiba, who is the same age as him whom is residing in the east wing. After being encouraged by his nurse Akiko he decides to befriend Rika who has is suffering from a serious condition. Despite Rika's selfish personality Yūich begins to find himself being more and more attracted to her.
Knowing little about Rika's condition Yūich does everything he can to help her out. Yūich will just have to try not to get caught by his nurse or Rika's doctor for his antics of sneaking around the hospital and his nightly visits to his friends.

Shōjo
Shōjo: (lit. 少女 "Young girl") Anime and manga with demographic aimed towards younger female audiences in their pre to late teens. It is important to stress that shōjo is not a style but a genre. Because of this, shōjo is defined as the target audience. Common shōjo tends to contained plots more focused towards character development and innocent love. Maho shōjo is a subgenre relating to shōjo geared around the main character receiving magical powers to fend off evil.

Shōnen: (lit. 少年 "teenager") Demographic aimed towards boys. Shōnen often, but not always, includes high action stories with humorous action and comedy scenes. Many shōnen titles will often have bizarre plots with androids and robots as well as have a high stress on technological advancements or abnormalities. Shōnen is specifically defined as a demographic and should not be defined strictly on style or plot. Style and plot are only common references that many shōnen seem to share.

Josei
Josei: (lit. 女性 "woman") Also called redisu or redikomi is a genre typically designed by women for older teens and adult females. Josei, unlike shojo, is far more realistic and more related to the "slice of life" genre.

Seinen
Seinen: Anime and manga designed for older males often college aged or older and contained more mature content. Seinen titles are more plot based and less focused on action or slapstick comedy. Seinen as well normally has a much stronger sense of "logic" placed within the plot requiring a deeper audience.
