Synopsis
Numerous mystical "Artifacts" were stolen and dispersed throughout the world many years ago. They got into the hands of people who weren't supposed to know about them, ending in disaster for those who used their power. The wizards of the Hoshisato family have special access to the Artifacts and have taken it upon themselves to return them to their rightful place. Despite her lack of experience, Kana "Hatena" Hoshisato desires to assist her parents Mamoru and Maeve in their quest by improving. Meanwhile, Makoto Shiranui, her childhood buddy, has arrived at their estate to study magic under her father's supervision, fulfilling a promise they made years ago. Hatena is overjoyed to meet her buddy again, only to be crushed when the person she had assumed to be a female all this time turns out to be a male, resulting in a tense reunion. Makoto learns about the Artifacts and the true identities of the magicians he admires before long. Unfazed, he continues to strive to keep his commitments.
