Synopsis
It has been ten years since the appearance of insect-like creatures known as "Mushi." Mushi have the abilities to consume people's dreams and in return give those they have possessed, called Mushi-Tsuki, supernatural powers. As a result of these powers people have come to discriminate and fear all Mushi-Tsuki. In an effort to remove the existence of Mushi and Mushi-Tsuki the government's Special Environment Preservation Office, SEP, has been created. Within the SEP, the top agent Cuckoo, who is a Mushi-Tsuki himself, is sent out to capture a girl named Shiika Anmoto who has escaped Mushi-Tsuki captivity. However, standing in the way of his mission is the Mushi-Banê which has been formed to counter the SEP.
