Would you buy a game you wanted even if it was overpriced?
Of course!
Only if I really wanted it.
I wouldn't want to encourage them.
I'd be tempted to pirate it.

I've always been the type to be choosy with games. Normally I sink around 30+ hours into any game I buy. With that said I was thinking of trying out the indie game Prison Architect which is still in alpha, and the game is running from $30-double the price of Don't Starve. The price isn't even a major concern for me but I felt I had to pass it up since it felt like the devs were taking advantage of their fans. I may end up still getting it but the price just doesn't seem right. Ever run into a game or other item you just had to pass on because you felt it was overpriced? Even if you could easily afford it.

I think Markus Persson (creator of Minecraft) said it best:
@AndresLeay Just pirate it. If you still like it when you can afford it in the future, buy it then. Also don't forget to feel bad. ;)
PS: I'll be honest. I got a pirated version of Minecraft before I bought it.

I myself wouldn't buy any game unless I like it. As of right now I am still playing Skyrim so I feel the price was worth it same thing with fallout. In general I only buy games I can play forever like RPG's. I never bought 'Don't Starve" not because of the price but because I was afraid I would get bored of it.

I'm about 30 to 50 hours into I think. It's actually has a ton of content for the price. Granted I have played about 200 hours of Skyrim. I really don't buy many games. I just play the heck out of what I do buy.

Example would be SimCity. I only received it as a gift. I had zero intention of purchasing it until they lowered the price to match the quality of the game. It's a great game, but there are so many problems with it outside of the bugs. The gameplay itself is too limiting to be a Sim game.

I have yet to play SimCity...I'm relatively sure I had it once (back when the Sims games first popped up) and just never got around to playing it.

I think I thought I would get bored of it very quickly so I stuck to the other Sims games.

Ahh! But we could build a city together! You going the route of medicine and law universities that lead to grand schemes of super hero themes! While my city supplies yours with an abundance of criminals so your state taxes aren't being wasted on expensive hall monitors.

Best experience I've had. 24,000 income from microchips, FINALLY MICROCHIPS, and I got hit with a tornado at the casinos, hazmat fire in my industries, a monster destroyed my university and I had a nuclear meltdown cause of how long the school was down for. This all happened ine about 2 hours real time. Totally screwed me.

Bah. Solar power. The hippies at my SimCity University keep suggesting that. For them I created a coal mine.

So I guess that nuclear explosion was not convincing enough for to use a different form of energy.

That tends to happen with those games. Buy hey you must of have been addicted to it for a while. So it was worth it.
