Reiji is a mysterious red-haired boy who befriends Sei at a park. He gives Sei an Arista, telling him he will be at his side whenever he wishes. During a Gunpla Battle between Sei and Susumu Sazaki, Reiji suddenly appears and commandeers Sei's Gunpla, giving him a surprise victory.

Added character entry for Iori, Sei
Sei Iori is a 13-year-old boy whose family runs Iori Hobby Shop in the fictional Tokyo district of Keyakigaoka. As his father Takeshi was first runner-up at the second Gunpla Battle World Championships, Sei is very talented at building Gunpla kits, but his piloting skills are very weak due to a subconscious desire to avoid damaging his Gunpla.

The story is set in the near future when GunPla Battles, competitions that pit Gundam plastic models against each other, have become popular worldwide in the "Second GunPla Boom." Sei Iori, a first-year middle-school student and the only son of a model shop owner, is talented at building GunPla, but inexperienced in the GunPla Battles. He encounters a mysterious boy named Reiji, who happens to be an accomplished Gundam Fighter. Together, they strive for the GunPla Battle world championships.
