Synopsis
Many of us have experienced the difficult process of making new friends after moving to a new school and going through the ordeal of getting to know people all over again. Bocchi Hitori, who recently finished elementary school and was placed in middle school, is all too familiar with this battle. She unfortunately has severe social anxiety, to the point where she creates absurdly complicated plans to avoid social situations, faints when overstimulated, and throws up when anxious. The fact that Kai Yawara, her only elementary school buddy, will not be attending the same middle school as Bocchi does not help either. But in an attempt to support her, Kai cuts off contact with her, promising to make amends once she becomes friends with every student in her new middle school class. Despite her lack of confidence in herself, Bocchi is adamant about getting back together with Kai. Gathering all her bravery, Bocchi faces the difficult task of becoming friends with every student in her class.
