Synopsis
According to Direct Attack (DA), there are fewer terrorist attacks in Japan. Through their "Lycoris" program, the group raises orphaned girls to be assassins. Takina Inoue is a remarkable Lycoris with a drive for excellence and a sense of purpose. Unfortunately, she loses patience during a hostage crisis, and as a result of her actions is removed from DA. She makes her way to LycoReco, a cafe in disguise, her new HQ, not happy about leaving the only place she felt at home. Yet her new companion ends up being very different from what she had anticipated. Chisato Nishikigi, the renowed Lycoris prodigy, seems to be barely paying attention to her job. On the pretense of assisting those in need. she takes Takina along on a variety of odd jobs. As Chisato defeats a number of armed attackers without killing any, Takina is even more perplexed. She wants to rejoin the DA because she feels out of place, but Chisato is determined to show her that there is more to life than simply taking it.
