Synopsis
As humanity has spread across the universe they have colonized the galaxy. In one star system men and women have become mortal enemies. After taking on a bet to steal a Vanguard battle mecha Hibiki, a third class citizen of the planet Taraak, is caught up in a battle with female pirates and gets captured along with two of his comrades. Hibiki now finds himself living as a prisoner on a ship full of females but with the Vanguard he has stolen he finds he has the ability to fuse with the females' fighter Dreads to create a powerful mecha known as a Vandread finding him a place among the female crew.
